Principal’s Message|

/re·fo·cus/
Refocus means to look again or pay attention to something important

Last week, we focused on reconnecting, coming back together. This week and next, we are refocusing and reflecting, thinking carefully about what is important.

Sharing memories and stories helps us do this. In many families and cultures, people tell stories about the past. These stories can make us smile and feel happy. Sometimes, they make us feel sad when we remember someone we miss. Remembering helps us understand our past and who we are today.

At school, remembering together helps us share our feelings, ask questions, and think about how we can make the world better. Thank you to our Grade 6 students, teachers, and music team for the beautiful assembly this week. You helped us all remember and reflect.

As we get ready for Remembrance Day, we take time to think, remember, and say thank you. On this special day, we honour the people who gave their lives for peace and freedom. It also reminds us to be kind, strong, and to care for each other.

This week, let’s all take time to remember, learn, and show kindness.

Wishing you a peaceful and thoughtful Remembrance Day.

School Fees|

School and lunchroom fees have been added to your MyCBE account. Please log in to your account to see and pay these fees.

If you are unable to pay, your child will still be welcome at school. You can apply for a fee waiver through your MyCBE/PowerSchool account.

Instagram|

We will begin using Instagram to share learning and special moments from our school.
This is a way for families to see what students are doing and learning each week.

Instagram is one of several ways we share information with families:

  • School Messenger – weekly messages from the office
  • Teacher messages – information about classroom events
  • School website – updates about activities and news
  • Parent-teacher conferences, phone calls, emails, and report cards – to share information about your child’s learning

If you have questions about your child’s progress or learning, please contact your child’s teacher.

Please follow our school Instagram account, douglasharkness_cbe to see pictures and updates from around the school.
