Fall Break is here. A reminder that there is no school November 9th to 14th. We look forward to having everyone back on Wed. November 15.

We would like to thank all of the students who participated in today’s Remembrance Day Ceremony. It takes courage to speak and perform in front of your peers and we are very proud of you. We would also like to thank the staff who put the assembly together and would like to offer gratitude to Mr. Sylvester for preparing the music for today. On behalf of the staff and students of Douglas Harkness School, as we mark Indigenous Veterans Day today and Remembrance Day on Saturday, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our veterans and to those currently serving in the Canadian Forces.

We are excited to announce that each student will be receiving a FREE T-SHIRT depicting our new school logo. There will be no cost to families for these T-shirts. We recognize that some of you may want to add additional clothing items so we have opened an online store for families to purchase sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts if they wish to do so. The online store link is available on our school website or through the QR code on the notice that went home in backpacks today. Orders close on November 21st so don’t delay if you want extra DHS swag!

We have been approved for another fundraising casino! Mark your calendars for Monday and Tuesday April 8and 9. Our Douglas Harkness Parent Society will be sharing more information about how you can help out in the coming weeks.
