Pizza Orders

Last day to order pizza kits online is Sunday March 3. Paper/cash orders are now closed. Pizza kits will be delivered to the school on March 18 and must be picked up on that day. 

Casino Help Needed! 

We are in desperate need of Casino volunteers for our upcoming casino happening April 8 and 9 at Pure Casino Calgary. Our school relies on the funds generated from the casino to purchase extra things for students such as Smart Boards, computers, sound systems, and field trips. If you or a friend or family member are able to volunteer, please email harknesscasino@gmail.com for more information. Student-Led Conferences

We will be holding student-led conferences on March 21 and 22. This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to come to the school with their child and look at their student work. Parents/guardians will need to book a half hour time slot through your child’s MyCBE account in order to attend. This is NOT a one on one sit down meeting with your child’s teacher as there will be 3 other families in the room during your time slot. The booking system opens on Monday March 11th at 8am.

Staffing Update

We have a couple of important grade 5 staffing updates to bring to your attention. Ms. Sleno will be taking a leave of absence to have and recover from surgery. Her last day with us for the time being was on Thursday February 29. Mr. Olson will be supporting in grade 5 until March 15th. The students know Mr. Olson as he has been a guest teacher in the school on many occasions. Also, Ms. Hainstock’s temporary contract in grade 5 comes to an end on March 15 when Ms. Liana Shihab returns from her maternity leave. We know this is a fair bit of change for grade 5 so in order to maintain continuity in the classroom, Ms. Hainstock has graciously agreed to stay with us until Ms. Sleno recovers and returns from her surgery. Thank you Ms. Hainstock! We wish Sarah well and look forward to having her back when she is able.

DHS Chicken Coop

The chicken eggs are rolling around in the incubator and we are excited to candle them on Tuesday to see how many are viable and likely to hatch.
