Online Parent-Teacher Conferences
What a great parent teacher conference with so many parents / legal guardians engaging in their child’s learning. Thank you to the parents / legal guardians who attended the online conferences.
If you did not get an opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, please reach out to the teachers after the Spring Break.
Grade 3 Heritage Park Field Trip
As mentioned before, Douglas Harkness School received a $5000 grant for field trips. Our Grade 3 class went to Heritage Park and learned about Indigenous ways of knowing, Bison, explored our past and many other historical information.
Our students were engaged, curious and participating. We look forward to the rest of our students attending in April.
Thank you to the parent volunteers who took great care of our students! If you would like to volunteer, please see more information below.
We are grateful and appreciative of the anonymous donor through Education Matters.

School Council and Parent Society
The next School Council and Parent Council meeting is on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 6pm-7pm.
This is an opportunity for parents / legal guardians to make a meaningful difference for students by participating on the school council.
Under the Education Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority defined within the Education Act and the School Councils Regulation. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school. You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.
Sincerely
Ms. Amardeep Chana, Principal
Mr. Kenneth Perrone, Assistant Principal
