Upcoming Important Dates

When we walk around the school, we can clearly see that learning is a process. Learning does not happen all at once. It happens over time as students practice, try new ideas, and build their skills. 

This week, our students demonstrated their learning of inline skating, demonstrating resilience as they became more confident and skilled with each lesson they had. In grade 6, we saw students learning to connecting art and writing to one another. Our grade 1 students have been learning to share their unique qualities and emotions. 

Learning is active. Students learn by thinking about information, making connections, and using what they learn in new ways. Learning is also influenced by the world around us. Students learn from their experiences and from working with their classmates and teachers. 

We look forward to sharing more about your child’s learning with you next week during our Student-Led Conferences.

Happenings| 

Our second week of our Alien Inline Residency has been just as fun! Check out some more of the action! Thank you to Sarah from Alien Inline. 

Student- Led Conferences| 

We are excited to invite you to our Student-Led Conferences on Tuesday, March 17 and Thursday, March 19 from 4:00-6:00pm. 

This is a special time for you to see your child’s learning and hear about their work in their own words. Your child will show you what they have learned. 

• Time: Each conference takes about 30 minutes. 
• Families: There may be other families in the same time slot. Please book one 30-minute slot per child. 
• Teachers: Your child’s teacher will also be there to celebrate their learning with you. 

How to Book your conference: 

• Registration opens Thursday, March 12 at 8:00 a.m. 
• Book your slot through your MyCBE account. 
• Make sure to choose the correct grade for each child.

Substitute Teachers’ Appreciation Week| 

This past week was Substitute Teachers’ Appreciation Week. Substitute teachers help our school when classroom teachers are away. They often come in with little notice and help keep learning going for our students. 

We would like to say thank you to all substitute teachers for the important work they do and for supporting our school community.
