Principal’s Message|

“Every day is a learning experience.”

Rose Crowshoe Piikani Elder

This week, our school community came together to recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day and the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. For many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples, the Summer Solstice is an important time to celebrate culture, community, and connection to the land.

Students participated in activities that helped them learn about Indigenous cultures, histories, and traditions. These experiences supported learning through the heart, mind, body, and spirit. Students used their minds to learn new knowledge and understand different perspectives. They used their hearts to reflect on kindness, respect, and belonging. They used their bodies by taking part in shared activities and learning experiences. They nurtured their spirits by spending time in reflection and appreciating the land and community around them.

Our time together reminded us that learning is not only about gaining knowledge. It is also about building relationships, understanding others, and appreciating the many cultures that make up our community. We are grateful for opportunities to learn from Indigenous perspectives and to celebrate the diversity that strengthens our school.

As we welcome the summer season, we encourage our students to continue showing respect, curiosity, and care for others and for the world around them. Together, we learn, grow, and build a stronger community

Warm regards,
Lisa and Jenn

Back to School Information|

Our website has been updated with important back to school information. Please find the information here.

Lost and Not-Yet Found|

As we start to organize and clean up for the end of the year, we are encouraging families to check the lost and found. If your child is missing something, please encourage them to pick them up this week or stop by the school to look for missing items. Before or after school is a good time for parents to have a look through the “lost and not yet found” items. Unclaimed items will be packed and donated at the end of the day on June 26.

Medication at the Office|

Please ensure you have collected your child’s medication from the office. Medication is not stored at the school over the summer. If you would like to arrange for your child to bring their medication home in their backpack, please contact the office.

School Council/Parent Society Notes|

Our last school council/parent society meeting took place on Thursday, June 4. We look forward to welcoming parents to the 2026-2027 School Council meetings.
