Principal’s Message|

“Approach the New Year with resolve to find

the opportunities hidden in each new day.”

Michael Josephson

As we begin the New Year, we think about new beginnings and new opportunities. A new year gives us time to reflect on what we have learned and achieved, and to look forward to what is ahead.

We are excited to continue supporting our students as they grow, both in their learning and as individuals. This year will bring new learning experiences and chances for students to discover their interests and strengths. There are many new and exciting things to look forward to.

The New Year is also a good time to set goals and try again when things are challenging. Together, we can encourage our children to believe in themselves, try new things, and stay motivated throughout the year.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to working together and wish you and your family a happy and successful New Year.

Warm regards,
Lisa

To begin Kindergarten next school year, children must be five years old on or before Dec. 31, 2026.

We also have a Kindergarten Registration Guide to help answer common questions and support you with the process.

Online Report Cards February 2026|

Families will be able to view, download, and print online report card starting in February through MyCBE. Kindergarten to Grade 9 Report Cards will be available starting Feb. 24, 2026.

Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For the best access to information, log in through the MyCBE instead of using the PowerSchool App.

After May 29, 2026, all Semester 1 Reports Cards will no longer be available for viewing, downloading and/or printing.

DHS Spirit Week|

Get ready for an exciting and fun-filled Spirit Week next week! We are celebrating Spirit Week as a fun way to welcome everyone back after Winter Break. It is also a great opportunity to build connections, strengthen relationships, and create a positive, inclusive atmosphere for students and staff.

Monday – Jersey Day / Wear Red Day (January 12th
We are a proud APPLE School. Let’s show our APPLE pride by wearing red or rocking your favourite sports jersey from any team! If you don’t have a jersey, wear red to represent the Calgary Flames.

Tuesday – Crazy Hat / Crazy Hair Day (January 13th)
It’s time to get creative! Wear your wildest hat or style your hair in the silliest way you can think of. The sillier, the better!

Wednesday – Anything But a Backpack Day (January 14th)
Leave your backpack at home and bring your school supplies in anything but a backpack. Please remind students that items must be safe, school-appropriate, and easy to carry.

Thursday – Roles Reversed Day (January 15th)
The school day gets flipped! Students dress and act like teachers or staff, and staff dress and act like students. Get ready for lots of laughter.

Friday – Tie Dye Day (January 16th)
End the week in colour by wearing your brightest tie-dye to celebrate a fun-filled spirit week!
