We Need Your Help!

A message was sent during the week of September 4 regarding forms that families are REQUIRED to complete, review and/or update. You are receiving this message as a friendly reminder to complete these REQUIRED online forms by the end of next week.

To complete the forms you will need to log into your child’s MyCBE account. This is the same account that you use to pay fees, view report card information, book school conferences, etc. If you need assistance with completing these forms, please contact the school to schedule a time to come in and we will be happy to help.

Some of the forms you will see when you log in include:

• Demographic Verification - 2023-24 – This form needs to be completed each school year and includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.
• Citizenship Information Update - 2023-24 – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
• Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – This form needs to be completed each school year and provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties.
• Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - This form needs to be completed each school year and provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day)

This week, all students will be engaging in age appropriate conversations in their classrooms about the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Students will be learning about the legacy of the Residential School System in Canada and will be encouraged to wear orange on Thursday to mark Orange Shirt Day.

Terry Fox Run

Students and staff will be participating in the Terry Fox Run on Monday September 25. Please dress your child for outdoor physical activity on that day.

School Council Meeting

We are holding our first School Council meeting of the year on Thursday September 28 from 6:00pm - 7:15pm in the school library/learning commons. Please watch for an invitation in your child’s backpack next week. We hope you will consider joining us before the meeting where we will be led in a smudge by our learning leader Ms. Sara in recognition of the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. If this interests you or you just want to learn more about smudge teachings, please meet us on the front lawn that day at 5:45pm.
