Principal’s Message|
The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina share a beautiful theme: Harmony (armonia). This means working together, showing respect, and finding balance between people and nature.
At our school, we will celebrate this idea by having our own School Olympics throughout the month of February!
During this time, students will take part in fun activities that help them learn about:
- teamwork
- kindness
- fairness
- perseverance
- healthy competition
Students will work together in their classes, encourage one another, and practice being good sports. Just like the Olympic athletes, they will learn that doing their best and supporting others is more important than winning.
These activities also help students build friendships, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging in our school community.
You can talk with your child at home about:
- How they worked as a team
- How they showed kindness and fairness
- What they learned from trying something new
We are excited for a month of learning, movement, and harmony together.
Warm regards,
Lisa

We had a blast at the opening torch ceremony for our DHS Olympics.
Apple Schools and Flames Foundation Event|
On February 19, 2026 we are excited to welcome members of Apple Schools and the Calgary Flames to our school for our Apple Schools and Flames Foundation Event. This will be an exciting opportunity to share the exciting work we have been doing at our school to promote well-being, activity and nutrition.
As media will be at this event, we are informing parents of this and asking for parents to complete their consent forms for media. There are two forms for you to complete so that the school is aware of your permissions.
- CBE External Media Consent – Found on SchoolEngage under Annual Authorization - Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (third party)
- Flames Foundation/Apple School Consent form- This form was sent home with your child. Please complete and return to the school
Surveys|
Near the end of February, students in grade 4 will be taking part in the Alberta Education Assurance Survey to provide feedback to Alberta Education and Childcare on students’, teachers’, and parents' / legal guardians' opinions about their school, their schoolwork and the opportunities their school provides. Parents of grade 4 students are also invited to take part in this survey. Parents will receive an email with information about how to complete this survey.
Grade 5 and 6 students will be taking part in the CBE Survey. This is an opportunity for students to report on themselves, their own abilities and accomplishments; and take pride in what they have achieved.
Online Report Cards February 2026|
Families will be able to view, download, and print online report card starting in February through MyCBE. Kindergarten to Grade 9 Report Cards will be available starting Feb. 24, 2026.
Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For the best access to information, log in through the MyCBE instead of using the PowerSchool App.
Further information about assessment and reporting can be found on the CBE website
