We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for a wonderful 2025-2026 year at Douglass Harkness School. The year was full of learning, growth, fun, kindness and excitement.  

Over the year, it has been a pleasure to watch our students grow, achieve success and be proud of their accomplishments. We are incredibly grateful for the sense of belonging and community that continues to be created each day. 

To create a safe, welcoming and caring environment, it takes a team. We are thankful to work with the best team of staff, students and families. 

We would like to wish everyone a fun, relaxing and safe summer with friends and family. We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall for another fabulous year.

Staffing Update| Farewells and Welcomes 

As each year comes to an end, it is that time when some staff head onto new adventures. While it is sad to say farewell – we know that there are amazing opportunities on the horizon for all our wonderful staff. We want to thank the following staff for their excellence in work with students and wish them all the best in their new adventures: 

Educational Assistant, Ghousia Sadiq will be moving on to new opportunity next year. We wish her the best in the future. 

Teachers, Beverley Nelson, Brandon Minia, James Slyvester and Julie Nicklin will be heading off to new adventures next year. We wish them the best in their new roles with the CBE.  We are grateful for all their commitment and dedication to supporting our school and students. 

Acting Assistant Principal Jennifer McDonald will be looking for new opportunities in the new year. We are extremely grateful for all the relationships she has built with staff, students and parents. She will be missed at Douglas Harkness. We wish her all the best and we look forward to hearing about the new connections she has made and the lives she has impacted next year! 

We would like to welcome new teacher, Ramandeep Ludu who will be joining us next year.
