Principal’s Message|

“Education Week is a celebration of community. The school is not just a building in the neighbourhood; it is the foundation of the community.”

(Alberta Teachers’ Association)

During Education Week, we take time to think about how important our school is in bringing people together. Our school is a place where students learn, grow, and build strong connections with others.

Our school is strong because students, families, and staff work together. We are thankful for the care, support, and teamwork that help make our school a happy and successful place for everyone.

Education Week is also a time to celebrate public education and look ahead to a bright future for all children. This includes:

  • great learning spaces for every child
  • creative and exciting learning opportunities
  • students who enjoy learning and reach their goals
  • families and communities who support student learning

We look forward to celebrating with you this week and continuing to work together to help every student grow and succeed.

Warm regards,

Lisa and Jenn

Happenings|

We had some small visitors this week to help us hopefully welcome more spring like weather.

Elementary School Track & Field City Championship|

The Elementary School Track & Field City Championships will take place on Saturday, May 31 and is open to students in Grades 3–6. This event is designed to build physical literacy through fun and inclusive experiences in running, jumping, and throwing. This is a great opportunity to support student well-being, confidence, and engagement in physical activity while introducing them to track and field in a positive, accessible way. Please see the attached brochure for how to register.

Traffic Reminders|

Spring is an excellent time to walk, wheel and ride to school. This supports the traffic congestion at school and is a wonderful way to get some fresh air before the school day begins.

We would like to remind parents not to use the staff parking lot for pick up or drop off. The parking lot is for staff use only. We also ask parents NOT to stop or park in the crosswalk. This is unsafe and illegal, and we want to ensure students crossing the road to school are safe.

School Council/Parent Society Notes|
