Clarence Sansom Tour for Grade 9
Our Grade 6 students had the opportunity to tour Clarence Sansom School today. Students got to learn about junior high school courses and see some of the Complementary courses students can choose next year.
Next week, parents / legal guardians, will be receiving a Course Selection Form to fill out so your child can choose the Option Classes next year.
We sincerely thank Clarence Sansom School for a great tour and providing our students with lunch.
Heritage Park Field Trips
As mentioned before, Douglas Harkness School received a $5000 grant for field trips. Within he next couple of weeks, our Grades 2, 4, 5 and 6 classes will be going to Heritage Park for the day to learn about Indigenous ways of knowing, Bison, and exploring our past. The Grade 3 students have already attended and brought back excitement, knowledge and more questions.
Please ask your child for the consent forms for you to sign.
There is no cost for this field trip as an anonymous donor has covered the cost. We are grateful and appreciative of the anonymous donor through Education Matters.

School Council and Parent Society
The next School Council and Parent Council meeting is on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 6pm-7pm.
This is an opportunity for parents / legal guardians to make a meaningful difference for students by participating on the school council.
Under the Education Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority defined within the Education Act and the School Councils Regulation. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school. You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.
Sincerely
Ms. Amardeep Chana, Principal
